Hi everyone, Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I wanted to share some exciting highlights from last week that we can all take pride in.
First off, we had a super successful bake sale for the Foreign Language Department—thank you to all who contributed! This week, we have another bake sale for the Cares Club in support of their upcoming Run on Wed 3/19, so let’s keep the momentum going!
The Boys Volleyball Team showcased their talent in a tournament this weekend. I encourage everyone to come out to support our Baseball Team at their home opener this Wednesday, the 19th. It would mean a lot to our young athletes to see familiar faces in the stands!
In addition to these activities, I’m working on organizing a job fair at the school aimed at helping our students secure job placements. This will include opportunities in local places like the mall as well as potential positions in unions. If anyone has connections with recruiters who could participate, please reach out to me. We’re looking to host the event after Memorial Day, so there’s some time to gather our resources.
I’m also thrilled to share that we had Cynthia Angulo, a Newtown alumna, visiting to speak with the students about resume writing and LinkedIn. She graciously offered her contact information to the students for any advice or assistance they may need with their resumes. This collaboration allowed many students to earn WBL (Work-Based Learning) hours, which is fantastic—thank you to our Business Department for helping with this!
Thank you all for your ongoing support and dedication to our students and community. Let’s continue to make a positive impact together!
