Exam Requirements

Regents Diploma:

To earn a Regents Diploma you must pass the following Regents exams with a grade of 65% or higher:

Global Studies

Science
Second Language


Advanced Regents Diploma

To earn an Advanced Regents Diploma you must pass the following eight Regents exams with a grade of 65% or higher:

English
Global Studies
U.S. History
Science
Science Regents- Any TWO Exams
Math A
Math B
Second Language- Any Exam


Local Diploma

The requirements to earn a Local Diploma depend on when you began your freshman year of high school. You must pass five Regents exams (English, Math, Global History, U.S. History, Science) with the following minimum grades:

Freshman year/9th grade began in 1999-2004: You must score 55% or above on all five exams.

Freshman year/9th grade began in 2005: You must score 65% or above on any two exams, 55% or above on the other three.

Freshman year/9th grade began in 2006: You must score 65% or above on any three exams, 55% or above on the other two.

Freshman year/9th grade began in 2007: You must score 65% or above on any four exams, 55% or above on the other one.

Freshman year/9th grade began in 2008: You must score 65% or above on all five exams.
